My very best friend's son was diagnosed with an extremely rare form of brain cancer at 10 months of age. This cancer is almost always fatal. Yet Danielle McCauley and her husband John have chosen to fight it, not just by seeking out the best treatment for their son Sean, but by becoming proactive in helping other families who are dealing with pediatric cancer. Their foundation, Sean's Hope, was founded with an idea that has become their motto: "There is no false hope."
Their
ongoing journey has been both heartbreaking and inspiring, painfully tragic and
yet triumphant in the way that these two ordinary parents have chosen to make
sense of it all. Sean's own website, seanmccauley.homestead.com,
includes information about his disease and an ongoing journal written by his
mother, who just happens to be one of the most amazing women I know. You
can offer your own words of support and encouragement in the guestbook on this
site.
But more importantly, check out their foundation's website, Sean's Hope.org, which has already raised significant funds to help families with pediatric cancer.
I feel This is a cause worth sharing. There are many ways to help.
